It's been awhile...

So, it's been a long time since I have posted anything. That last blog busy...well I was busy the last few months. It made me really sad because I couldn't do the things I really wanted to do. I know I was being a good student by doing my homework and such. But I didn't feel like a good friend or capoeiraista. But I suppose these things happen.

This next semester should be fairly busy too but being a new semester I always try to manage my time better and more wisely. It would out fairly well Summer and Fall semester. I have 3 classes with a total of 12 credits, which means I can't drop one class or i'm no longer full time. Each class has a lab which it almost means 6 classes total because from the experiences with past classes with labs, they almost never go hand in hand. But we'll see..I know everything will be just fine.

Capoeira has been good. Because I haven't been able to go to as many capoeira events/classes as I would have liked I think I have been able to appreciate it more...Not that I didn't before. But i know that it is something I want to continue further and further. I may not be able to train much right now, but there are many other things I've been doing to contribute to the group until I am able to train as much as I'd like or need to. But I always remind myself when I get down about it or think that I'm not where I should be....I remind myself that while it sucks right now, if I continue to do well in school for the next million years (exaggeration) then it will all pay off in the end.

Hmm...how are other things in my life....Furao and I have been fairly well. It got sort of frustrating at the end of the semester because I felt like I never got to see him even though I saw him everyday. But there just wasn't any one on one time..which is what I missed. But we are doing fine again. He has been working a bunch so far over break so I don't even feel a difference between school and no school except for the fact that I have nothing to do. I am excited with this weekend. Friday we are having a fancy new years party at the capo house. I think it's cute because our first new years (2 years ago) it was a fancy party too!! New years day is out two year anniversary so we are going on a carriage ride for  a while downtown. It's going to be super cute and fun. I can't wait. I don't know if he know's how excited I am about it! Which reminds me of christmas. He totally made me something super cool It's not done yet but it will always remind me of him. I don't know exactly how to explain it other than it being sorta like a night light in the shape of a heart. He made the circuit board him self and put the LED lights on it! So it makes it super special. I waited for a whole month to give him his present and I couldn't wait! He didn't order one of our new capo hoodies so I bought him one! He loves it. I'm super glad he does!

Well...look I updated, Pomba I hope this makes your day! I did it mostly because of you. P.S. I had a super fun time at date night yesterday!

Busy

I'm pretty busy all the time, that is why the lack of updating. My birthday went pretty great. Talento won his fight, and Furao and I went to Hop Cat for some drinks.

Sunday evening Furao took me to dinner at San Chez, which after first getting there, things seemed weird. But then it turned out everything was yummy.

Sunday was also 6 months since my Grandpa passed. It's really to believe that all this time has gone by since he has been gone. He was the closest person I've ever lost, and I don't think it has fully hit me yet. It might not ever.

Other than all of these things, school and capo have been keeping me very busy.

Long Week

The first week of classes went by fast, I didn't even go a full week. I left on Thursday for Rochester. I slept the WHOLE way there. We finally got to our destination at 6:15am, and I still fell asleep again. Then we had a few days of workshops and another Batizado to watch. We left Saturday evening, and got back Grand Rapids about the same time we got to Rochester. I totally bocked school out of my head all weekend. Today, I had to get back in the groove of work, school, and homework. I shouldn't have gotten out of it over the weekend...but things happen.

On another note aside from Capoeira and School, I will 21 years old on Sunday. I'm excited. Talento finally found out whether or not he is fight and he is! I can't wait to go watch him fight. I hope he does good. After that, I think we are going to grab to dinner, and eventually make our way back to Grand Rapids, for some fun for my Birthday at Midnight. I'm not really sure what the plan is, but I know my mom is coming out, so I will at least have a few people going out with me. Then the evening of my Brithday Furao and I are going out to dinner. I'm super excited about that too! The only downside to the whole weekend is I have a quiz on Monday for Kinesiology and another quiz on Tuesday in History. So I have many things to review over such a busy weekend.

Hmm 10:30pm already. I should probably get some rest soon. Thursday is my long day!

Nighty night world!

The last hours of Summer

There are about 12 hours left of my summer vacation. It's pretty ridiculous.

This weekend was a whole bunch of fun. Friday afternoon Furao and I went to noodles and company for a lunch date before summer ended. After he got out of work, he picked me up from home and we made our way to Jackson. There we picked up Ratinha, and then drove another hour to get to Southfield for the Batizado. We made it for the welcome roda. It was a lot of fun.

After words, my tummy didn't feel too well and I thought I was hungry. A bunch of us went to out to a chinese place, and my belly just couldn't handle it. After dinner, we went back to Seria's apartment. It was super nice of  her to let us stay at her place. The next morning we got up, had breakfast, and headed back to South field for the 4.5 hours of workshops. We then had a 1.5 hour break. We all had lunch/dinner and went swimming in the pool. It was really warm and nice. After the break we watched a Batizado Ceremony. It was super cool to watch other people go up cords and not have to worry about going up. But I'm sure I will be a part of a batizado that is "mine" and not have to worry about going up. when the ceremony was over, we went over to Gato and Ratinhas to hang out.

We left their apartment at noon today. We got back to GR, and then headed to the beach. We were there for four hours! It was super fun! After words, Furao made us all delicious turkey burgers, and Pipi made brownies. What more could I have asked for, for the last day of summer.

Fall 2010 classes start tomorrow. I'm prepared I have to be. There are so many reasons why I need to do well. One of number one reasons are for my grandpa. When I started school, and I told him I was going to study physical therapy, he was one of the top people on my list to fix. I'm sad to say now, that I won't ever have that chance. It's been almost 6 months since he has passed, and sometimes it seems so unreal. But for him, I need to achieve my goal!

Here was to good summer.

The Crisp Air of Fall

I passed out last night on the couch cuddling with Furao, and then came up stairs, turned the fan on and fell asleep. When I woke up early in the morning it was very cold, I turned the fan off and went back to sleep. Later that morning I left the house to go to work, there was a nice cool crisp in the air. I stood in the sun for a second and loved how the sun felt beaming on my back. As I was walking to my car I could hear crunching under my feet, the leaves from spring and summer were falling already.

All of this really made me realize how fast the summer came and went. There were so many things I did but so many more that I wish I had done.

As this weekend approaches I keep trying to prepare myself for the month full of activities. Tomorrow evening a Batizado in Southfield with Baz will start. Then Saturday will be filled with workshops, fun and watching others get their first/new cord. I'm very excited. I get see people I don't see often.

On Monday, my third year at GVSU starts. I can't believe I have already completed 2 years there. It seems like yesterday I was moving out of my parents house for the first time. This semester and probably next one too I'm trying to raise my GPA. It's not were I want it to be so I need to work much harder than I did in the past.

After the first week of classes are over, I will be heading to Rochester, New York with my love and some Great friends, Pomba and Sombrio. We'll be going for another Batizado with Carcara. This will also be great because we'll all learn new things see more people we don't see often, and of course play Capoeira.

And finally the weekend after that is (hopefully) Talentos big fight and my Birthday. It'll be a great weekend! I think I'm really looking forward to dinner with Furao the most. We're going to this Restaurant we tried going to when we first started dating but it was too busy so we went some where else.

So much to do and such a short amount of time. But, I'm ready for you fall, bring on the fun, the new opportunities, and puzzles! I'm ready to conquer them all!

First Post!

So, I read my friend Pombas blog and I thought it was a great idea. I also thought it was good way to express myself, the things I want to vent or share.

So here is my first post...I went for attempt number 2 today to renew my license. Today was a success!! YAY! When I got back to my car I still had a half hour on the meter, so i decided to go get a library card (I parked right in front of the GR Library) That was also a success. After that, I got lost walking around in he building and left with 17 minutes left on the timer, oh well though. I left downtown and headed to the mall and met Furao there.  I had a coupon for a free pair of panties with any purchase. So I bought another pair. Its great, I love VS!

All in all today has been a pretty good day.
